河西村是旧县镇下辖的行政村，位于旧县河西岸，国道205线穿村而过。村子是镇政府和集镇所在地，也是全镇的政治、经济与文化中心，距上杭县城23公里。[1]

村名来自它位于旧县河西岸。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

土地革命时期，村中宫厂里设上杭县苏维埃，桅杆屋设保卫局，犁头子设裁判部，村子属旧县区苏维埃。民国时此地分属几个保。[4]

解放后村子归旧县区管辖，1953年设河西乡，后于1956年组成河西高级社。1961年起称旧县公社河西大队；1966年起归红岩公社，仍称河西大队；1984年改为旧县乡河西村民委员会，2012年改称旧县镇河西村民委员会。[4]

地理环境与经济[edit]

村中人多地少，居民多从事贸易、运输、建筑、种养和粮食加工。村中有肉鸡养殖大户，并以豆腐作坊为特色。[1]

人口民族[edit]

村中主要姓氏为陈姓，据博雅地名网所载，陈姓家族由丰稔迁来，至今已有几百年历史。[1]

历史人文[edit]

村子在解放前是水运中心，设有语口渡，也是经贸交流之地。解放后公路四通八达，成为旧县集市所在地。[1]

已故老红军、经历二万五千里长征的老干部陈中献（曾任广东省民政厅厅长）是本村人。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

「旧县区苏维埃政府旧址（敦和堂）」位于本村，俗称桅杆屋，为上杭县文物保护单位。清雍正二年（1724年）动工始建，占地26000多平方米。1929年以后，这里是中央苏区基层政权办公的处所，并在较长时期内充当红色交通线上的一处交通站。[2]

荣誉[edit]

  • 2021年1月，河西村被命名为「2020年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」。[3]
  • 河西村于2021年11月获福建省爱卫办授予「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[3]
  • 2024年1月，河西村被命名为「2023年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」。[3]
