河东村是旧县镇下辖的行政村，位于旧县河东岸，东邻扁山山麓，北边与新康的山林相接，南面与龙溪村接壤。芦花溪横贯村境。[1]

村名因村子位于旧县河东岸而得。据博雅地名网，河东村是旧县乡的第二大行政村。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

土地革命时期村中的敦本堂设过区苏维埃，村子属旧县区苏维埃政权。民国时为所在乡的寨里保。[3]

解放后村子属旧县区，此后设河东高级社、河东营，1959年改为大队。1966年起归红岩公社，仍称河东大队；1984年改为旧县乡河东村民委员会，2012年改称旧县镇河东村民委员会。[3]

地理环境与经济[edit]

村中有一万多亩森林，大山里出产野生红菇。红菇个大肉厚，每到产季，外地客商常来争相购买。[1]

村中有陈、江、张、温四姓，以陈姓为主。[1]

历史人文[edit]

村中陈氏的敦本堂是陈氏族人的祖祠，革命战争期间，老一辈革命家曾率红军入住此祠。[1]
