红四军入闽后，此地设立苏维埃政权，红军政治部一度驻于村中的塘厦总祠[2]。

福建省爱卫办2021年11月命名本村为2021年福建省卫生村[1]。另在2026年1月，本村入选福建省2026年度乡村振兴示范村[1]。
