下王村位于才溪镇西南部，距才溪集镇约6公里，永武高速与205国道绕村而过。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来历是：原有王姓住在村子下方，故称下王村。民国时设甲，属四坑保。解放初归才溪区第九区管辖；1951年归四坊乡；1956年成立下王高级社。[1]

1958年公社化后称才溪公社下王大队；1961年改属四坊公社，仍称下王大队；1965年随四坊并入才溪公社。1984年起设才溪乡下王村民委员会，1993年起称才溪镇下王村民委员会。[1]

文化[edit]

2011年，下王村被县委、县政府评为平安和谐村。下王村入选「第二批国家森林乡村」，相关名单于2019年12月由国家林业和草原局公布。2020年12月，被确定为「福建省第一批高级版绿盈乡村」。2021年11月，村庄获福建省爱国卫生运动委员会命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。2023年1月，被命名为「2022年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」。[1]
