历史沿革[edit]
村名的来历：清初，外地陈、邓、邱三姓人在此开炉炼铁，遗迹至今尚存，故名古炉。[3]
1934年以前，此地税收补贴长汀，属“贴长”即步云的村落联络点之一；1934年收回上杭管辖。民国时隶属云田乡金福保。解放初称古炉村，1953年划为第十三区步云乡，1956年组建古炉高级农业社，1958年公社化后称古田公社古炉大队。1965年步云、福地两公社合并为步云公社，称古炉大队；1984年改为步云乡古炉村民委员会；2021年步云乡撤销，改称古田镇古炉村民委员会。[2]
村辖石岩头、村里、溪坑、寨下、斜风溪五个自然村，共4个村民小组。[2]
博雅地名网所载本村荣誉有：2021年11月，被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」；2022年8月，被龙岩市农业农村局认定为「龙岩市2022年市级一村一品专业村（葡萄）」；2022年12月，被福建省农业农村厅确定为「2022年度福建省一村一品专业村（酒用葡萄）」。[1]

村子方圆面积约15平方千米，山林面积9479亩，其中生态林3679亩，毛竹林2800亩；耕地510亩。[1]
