苎园村是福建省龙岩市上杭县古田镇下辖的村，位于古田镇西北部，是上杭县北大门，与连城县庙前镇接壤。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此地先称桃坪，后称苎园。相传溪流两岸地势平坦，多生苎麻，故有此名。[4]

1929年红四军入闽后，此地设苎园苏维埃政府，属北四区。民国初属上杭县第三区，实行保甲制时归华洋乡。1953年划为第十三区的苎园乡，1956年组建苎园高级社。1958年曾与他村合组福利乡，同年10月公社化，属古田公社苎园管辖区，1959年改设大队。1984年改为古田乡苎园村民委员会，1986年改为古田镇苎园村民委员会。[3]

村辖的自然村有吉坑、黄排头、石泉、老屋背、羊头屋、水竹、新屋下、西山下与桃坪，合计九个，共5个村民小组。[3]

博雅地名网所载本村荣誉有：2022年12月，被福建省爱国卫生运动委员会命名为「2022年福建省卫生村」；2024年1月，本村获「2023年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」称号。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村子位于西山下片五个村的中心，319国道和龙赣铁路穿村而过，村中小竹里设有火车站。大部分村民住在国道边，苎园溪自村中流过，水源充足。[1]

山林面积大，以毛竹林、杉木林为主。[1][2]

经济[edit]

村民长期以农业和竹业经营为生。近年兴办了一批加工企业，目前各类加工厂有30余家。种植业上，水稻之外，烤烟种得也多。[1]
