地名由来[edit]
村名由朋城、新市两地各取一字合成。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
民国时此地属中山保。解放初，村中部分自然村归朋新村，其余归另一村。1953年普选后改为朋城乡，次年组成高级社。[2]
1958年撤区并乡后并入中黄乡，同年公社化，属白砂公社。1966年两个大队合并，称朋新大队。1984年改为白砂乡朋新村民委员会，1993年改为白砂镇朋新村民委员会。[2]
辖12个自然村，村委会驻新市。[2]

开国中将袁子钦（曾任解放军总政治部副主任）出生于本村。[3]

2021年11月，朋新村列入2021年福建省卫生村名单。[1]
