地名由来[edit]
大坪里与金丰山两处自然村规模较大，村名各取一字而成。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
民国时大坪里与金丰山分属两个保。解放初两处各设农会小组，1956年合组为大金高级社，属白砂区。[2]
1958年10月起属白砂公社，设大金大队；1984年改为白砂乡大金村民委员会，1993年改为白砂镇大金村民委员会。下辖6个自然村（8个村民小组）。[2]
文化[edit]
水竹洋自然村是客家木偶戏的发源地，当地「田公堂」木偶文化艺术已被确定为福建省非物质文化遗产。[1]
据县政府网站，明初（公元1397年）木偶戏由浙江传入大金村水竹洋，之后逐步传往客家各地。[3]
