西郊村位于上杭县城西北角，是一个典型的城边村。村名意指此村地处城郊的西北部。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

村中党员73人，村民代表39人。水田约1230亩，耕地总数3800多亩；全村面积7.3平方千米。全村有2027人，合545户。以上数字见于博雅地名网，未注明统计年份。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时此地属兰田保，解放初归附城区，1952年属西郊乡，1955年先设初级社，后于1956年改为西郊高级社，1957年经区乡调整后归城郊乡。[2]

1958年公社化后称城郊公社西郊大队，1967年改为红卫大队，1976年复名西郊大队革领组。1980年起由管委会管理，1984年起为城郊乡下属村，1986年改属临城乡，1993年称临城镇西郊村民委员会。[2]

文化[edit]

2024年1月，西郊村获「2023年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」称号。[1]
