西陂村位于临城镇西北部的城乡结合部，村部距城区约1公里。村名的来由是此村居于临城镇西部，位于吴陂里以东。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
党员64人。全村面积约3370.7亩，耕地437亩，山林688亩。村中常住的是468户，人口1783人。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
民国时属兰田保与通驷保。1949年解放初归附城区，1955年先设初级社，次年改为西高级社，1957年冬撤区并乡，此地归城郊乡。[2]
1958年公社化后隶城郊公社，1961年体制划小，单设城郊公社西陂大队；1980年起由管委会管理。1984年起为城郊乡下属村，1986年改属临城乡，1993年称临城镇西陂村民委员会。[2]
文化[edit]
2015年10月，西陂村列入「福建省第一批省级传统村落」名单；2021年11月，省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」；2021年12月，被确定为「福建省第二批高级版绿盈乡村（乡镇）」。[1]
