镇西社区是福建省龙岩市上杭县临江镇下辖的社区，位于上杭城区西南角，南面临汀江。[1][2] 它东邻镇南社区，西与临城镇的城西社区相邻。[1] 2002年9月起设立镇西社区居民委员会。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

镇西一带宋端平元年（1234年）已有建置，属来苏里；明、清时期属在城里。[3] 民国时设瑧成保与临江保，隶城厢区；解放初两保合并为成江里，归附城区。[3]

附城区改为第一区后，地名仍为成江里。[3] 1953年起称城关镇镇西街，公社化后归城关公社镇西大队，其间一度称红卫大队。[3] 1980年改为城关镇镇西居民委员会，1986年改为临江镇镇西居民委员会，2002年9月起设镇西社区居民委员会。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

解放路一带的老街保留着明清时期建造的骑楼式民居，院落之间彼此相通，巷道纵横交错。[2]

据博雅地名网，辖区内有一座天主教堂，西班牙传教士宋金铃神父于清光绪二十九年在此开办教堂。[2] 此后天主教会在当地办过学校、贫民医院和孤儿院。[2]
