临江镇是福建省龙岩市上杭县下辖的镇，也是全县政治、经济和文化中心，县委、县人民政府的驻地。[1] 镇域位于汀江中游，处在“三褶回澜”中段北侧的河谷盆地上，三面环水。[1] 1986年由城关镇改称临江镇；据博雅地名网所载，改名的缘由是镇域濒临汀江，江畔有毛泽东旧居临江楼。[2] 镇内的临江楼为全国重点文物保护单位，上杭文庙、上杭城墙等古迹也在镇内。[4][5][6][8]

历史沿革[edit]

南宋乾道四年（1168年），县址从钟寮场迁到这里，当时称郭坊，至今已有800多年。[1] 明、清时期这一带属在城里。民国时期先后设第一区、附城区。[1][3] 中华人民共和国成立后，这里先后称城厢区、城关公社，后改为城关镇；1986年改称临江镇。[1][2][3]

1929年，毛泽东曾在临江楼居住20余天。[5] 镇内的旧城墙，据博雅地名网，始建于宋端平元年（1234年）。[2]

地理环境[edit]

镇域坐标约为东经116.24°、北纬25.03°。[1] 镇址在汀江中游的河谷盆地中，三面环水。[1] 城区面积4.9平方千米，辖区内共有67个居民小组。[1]

气候为亚热带季风类型，冬季较短、夏季较长，湿热适中；年平均气温19.9℃，多年年降水在1520至2130毫米之间。[1]

文化[edit]

镇内文化娱乐场所有50多处，设老人活动中心7处；群众文化活动有汉剧、木偶戏、灯谜、舞狮、舞龙、船灯等。[1]

临江镇连获第六、七届「全国文明村镇」称号，2017年11月，中央文明委授予临江镇第五届「全国文明村镇」称号。[1][2] 福建省爱卫办于2020年12月作出决定，临江镇获「福建省卫生乡镇」称号。[2] 1993年，福建省人民政府授予临江镇「明星乡镇」称号。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

临江楼在临江路，南临汀江，是一幢三层砖木结构的小楼，带骑楼式建筑风格，始建于清末。1929年毛泽东在此居住。[4][5] 2013年3月5日，国务院公布临江楼为第七批全国重点文物保护单位。[4][5]

上杭文庙又称上杭孔庙、学宫，位于临江镇解放路东段的学坪。[6][7] 始建于宋嘉定十六年（1223年），明嘉靖二十七年（1548年）重建，占地约8713平方米。大成殿居中，殿前有戟门、名宦祠和乡贤祠，殿后为明伦堂。[6] 2001年1月20日，福建省人民政府公布上杭文庙为第五批福建省文物保护单位。[6][7]

上杭城墙位于临江路一带，始建于宋代，明成化二年（1466年）扩建。墙身用块石砌成，共开城门四座，靠汀江的一面设有水门。[8] 阳明门为拱顶，保存较好。[8] 博雅地名网则作宋端平元年（1234年）始建。[2] 2005年5月11日，城墙公布为第六批福建省文物保护单位。[8]

上杭县师范传习所旧址在临江镇解放路，其前身上杭丘氏总祠，于清嘉庆二十年（1815年）始建。[9] 1905年（光绪三十一年），丘逢甲在此办起上杭县师范传习所。[9] 旧址格局为三厅三天井，后面有楼，两侧有护厝；建筑面积3093平方米，占地4572平方米，为第九批福建省文物保护单位。[9]
