铁长村是铁长乡的乡政府驻地，位于长汀县北部，距县城约14公里，是全乡的中心地区。村名的来历与一处旧铁厂有关。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

相传清嘉庆二年，一名叫五福的铁匠带着妻儿到汪坪双窝哩一带挖矿，并在岭下设炉冶铁，这样持续了数十年。当地人把这处厂子叫作「铁厂」。客家话里「厂」与「长」读音相近，久而久之便写成了「铁长」。[2][4]

历史沿革[edit]

1931年，红军帮助当地成立乡苏维埃政府。公社化时期，这里设为铁长大队；1984年，改为铁长村民委员会。[1][3]

荣誉方面，村庄在2021年1月获得2020年度龙岩市「平安村居（社区）」的称号。2021年11月，福建省爱卫办命名本村为「2021年福建省卫生村」。2022年8月，龙岩市农业农村局把本村认定为「龙岩市2022年市级一村一品专业村」（乌龙茶）；同年10月，村庄被认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」；同年12月，又被确定为「2022年度福建省一村一品专业村」（乌龙茶）。[2]
