铁长乡位于福建省龙岩市长汀县北部，距县城约15公里，县政府网站称其为城郊型山区乡镇。乡名出自乡政府驻地铁长村，村名的由来见该村条目。全乡森林覆盖率高，竹木、茶叶是当地的主要产业。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

这一带在新中国成立初称铁贡乡，归大同区管辖。1958年区建制撤销后改为铁长乡；公社化时期，此地先称铁长管理区，划入红旗公社，1961年再立为铁长公社。1984年公社改为乡，延续至今。[3][4][5]

荣誉方面，2014年，国家授予本乡「2012年—2013年度国家级生态乡镇」称号，授予单位为环境保护部。2020年12月，省级爱卫部门把本乡命名为「福建省卫生乡镇」。「2021年福建省级森林康养小镇」的认定在2021年11月作出。龙岩市的「平安乡镇（街道）」认定则分别在2021年1月、2023年1月和2024年1月公布，对应2020、2022、2023年度。[2]

县政府网站称，辖区内各村陆续获得「国家3A级景区」「国家森林村庄」等称号，并有国家级及省级传统古村落；此外还有「福建省中草药养生旅游休闲基地」「福建省自驾游目的地」「金牌旅游村」「森林康养基地」等称号。[1]

全乡平均海拔700米，林地约10.5万亩，其中毛竹林约6.3万亩；国家级和省级生态公益林约9.3万亩，耕地4351.3亩，森林覆盖率为87%。[1]

人口民族[edit]

百度百科载，2019年末户籍人口为6890人。2025年7月发布的《铁长乡简介》则载全乡共2116户，户籍人口6915人，另有常住人口644人。[1][3]

经济[edit]

竹是乡内的传统产业，有玉扣纸制作和竹制品粗加工；茶产业以高山乌龙茶为主，另有藤茶、客家流民茶；水产业包括山泉水与酒类生产。[1] 传统物产还有土纸、松香、香菇和冬笋。[4]

名胜古迹[edit]

圭龙山省级自然保护区于2001年6月经福建省人民政府批准设立，辖区横跨四都、庵杰与铁长三乡镇，涉及七个行政村。保护区以中亚热带常绿阔叶林为主体，林内有伞花木、南方红豆杉和福建柏等群落。[6]
