小潭村在三洲镇政府西面，临省道651，沿汀江一带分布，村名源于汀边的一处深潭。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村子三面临水、一面依山，村民房屋沿汀江岸集中分布。汀江自北向南流经本村。[1][3]

民房沿江而建，江中有个深潭，因此称小潭。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1987年，三洲乡从河田镇分出后，设立小潭行政村。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

汀江国家湿地公园的园区位于本村河背一带，公园2013年12月获批为国家湿地公园试点。[2]
