元坑村位于涂坊镇北部，距319国道约5千米，离县道约1千米，距镇所在地约13千米。全村辖8个自然村。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来历：早年严姓人在此定居，称严坑；严姓人外迁后改称元坑。[1]

公社化后此地称元坑大队，1984年改为元坑村民委员会。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村落四面环山，土壤肥沃，植被茂盛，属亚热带季风气候。[2]

经济[edit]

槟榔芋和烤烟是村里的种植支柱产业，2009年成立了绿香槟榔芋合作社。[2]

文化[edit]

博雅地名网称，本村与其自然村岭下被列为红色革命基点村。[2]

2020年12月，本村入选2020年度福建省「一村一品」示范村（槟榔芋）；2021年10月，本村被认定为龙岩市2021年市级「一村一品」专业村（槟榔芋）。[1]

2024年1月，本村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
