新华村在四都镇东北部，距集镇所在地约17公里，属偏远山区。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年代，这里有连新、进华两个高级社，博雅地名网称两社各取一字，村名因此称新华；另一处记作进化社，两社后合并为新华高级社。[1]

改制后于1984年起称新华村民委员会。[1]

2021年1月，新华村被命名为2020年度龙岩市「平安村居（社区）」。[1]
