东山村距濯田集镇约1公里，654县道与205省道在村境交汇，南通武平，北上长汀县城。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村东一带山地较多，因此得名东山。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国二十八年至三十八年间，东山设王家保，辖五通街、上湖、湖村、土城里、堘背等甲。建国后废除保甲制，设立东山村，1950年6月改为东山乡，此后建置多次变更。[1]
