水头村位于濯田镇北面，是中国历史文化名村，也是中国传统村落。村中数十幢明清古民居沿溪两岸分布。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

升平溪发源于村中，溪水汇入濯田河，村庄因处在溪流的源头而得名水头。[1]

古村风貌[edit]

村口有两座山峦相对环抱，俗称「狮象把水口」，溪流清澈，穿村而过。村内有明清时期的古民居数十幢，连成一片；赖氏宗庙龙山祠也在村中。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1930年5月，大岸头以外的水头村归四都区苏维埃管。1939年，村内各自然村分属不同的保。[3]

建国后另设水头村，1950年组成源中乡，1956年撤销，并入邻乡。1957年，水头与邻村分开。1965年，本村数个大队合为水头大队；1984年改称水头村。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2015年10月，福建省认定水头村为第一批省级传统村落；2016年5月，列入福建省第五批历史文化名镇名村；2019年1月，入选第七批中国历史文化名村；2019年6月，被列入第五批中国传统村落名录。[1]
