朱坊村位于南山镇北部尾端，与童坊镇举河村交界。明初，朱姓人南迁至此开基，村名由此而来。[1]

此后又迁入彭、艾、刘、吴等姓。建国初先后并入谢屋乡、洋背乡，1958年随洋背一同加入南山人民公社；1961年冬起另设朱坊大队。[1]
