五杭村位于南山镇南部，距镇政府约10公里，东接连城县，西接涂坊镇。村名来自最早从上杭迁来开基的五个人。[1]

1961年，五杭从官坊大队中分出，设五杭大队；1964年又并入官坊大队，1979年再度分出，1984年改为村委会。[1]

2020年12月，五杭村入选「2020年福建省森林村庄」名单。[1]
