举林村是童坊镇下辖的行政村。村名相传源于清代此地出过一名吕姓举人，地名由「举人坪」后写作「举林坪」，后简作举林。[1]
人口与地理[edit]
据博雅地名网，村内总人口1229人，258户，有8个村民小组、5个自然村（年份未注）。土地面积564.1亩，山林面积8256亩，其中杉木造林3620余亩，垦复竹林3856亩。[1]
村内矿产有稀土矿、铜、铁矿和青板石等。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
解放前属旧童坊管辖，解放后属童坊区、林田乡。1957年撤区并乡后属童坊乡，1965年并入童坊公社。1984年属童坊乡，改设举林村委会。[1]
文化[edit]
据县政府网站，村中的「闹春田」习俗是省级非物质文化遗产，曾被各级媒体多次报道。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2024年1月，举林村被命名为「2023年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」。[1]
