湖口村是新桥镇下辖的行政村，村落开基于明朝。村名的由来见下文。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村址地势低洼，雨季积水成湖，因而称为湖口。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前此地属新桥区任屋乡，1958年属新桥公社并设湖口大队；1961年一度改属任屋公社；1984年体制变化后改设湖口村。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2023年1月，村被命名为「2022年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」；2024年1月，被命名为「2023年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」。[1]
