任屋村位于长汀县城东部，距县城约10公里，距新桥镇政府约3公里，村域是进出新桥镇前往县城一线的通道。[1]
地名由来[edit]
因任姓先民最早在此开基，村名由此而来。[1]
人口与姓氏[edit]
全村辖3个自然村、10个村民小组，共620户、2846人。[2]
村中主要姓氏有黎、任、罗、陈、汤、林等六姓，其中黎姓约占全村人口的七成。[2]
设施[edit]
村域内有中学和完小各一所，设有国家粮站和农村信用社，并建有一座小二型水库，库容74万立方米。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
民国时期此地设任屋区，解放初设任屋乡。1957年撤区并乡后，村仍在任屋乡之内；1958年公社化时划入新桥公社，成立任屋大队。[1][2]
