下增村位于古南公路沿线，东面与青山村、梁坑村相接，北面临古城集镇。[1]
地名由来[edit]
明清时期，村民迁居到此。因所在山形上窄下宽，村名取“下增”。[2]
生产[edit]
村里以竹业为重点，新办了竹制品加工厂，并铺设了一段水泥路面的村道。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
解放前，村子属古城乡下增保管辖；解放后归上都乡。1956年成立初级社，1958年公社化后设下增大队，1965年并为一个大队，1984年改设下增村民委员会。[2]
