光明村离县城约6.5公里，属半山区村，辖3个自然村、9个村民小组。村名由政府命名，寓意前途光明。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年公社化初期，光明隶属红旗公社。1959年红旗公社改称大同公社，光明为其下的一个大队。1961年另设公社，1971年1月并入附城公社，附城后改称大同，光明仍为大队。1984年起设光明村民委员会。[1]

文化[edit]

2022年8月，光明村经龙岩市农业农村局认定，成为「龙岩市2022年市级一村一品专业村」（毛竹）。[1]

2023年1月和2024年1月，光明村先后被命名为2022年度、2023年度龙岩市「平安村居（社区）」。[1]
