南寨村地处县城南部，靠南屏山麓，汀江河旁，因地处县城南郊而取名南寨。[1]

村中的朝斗岩是长汀八景之一“朝斗烟霞”所在的山岩，也是镇内的革命旧址。[3][5]

历史沿革[edit]

文革期间村一度称红寨大队，1984年后改为南寨村民委员会。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

朝斗岩的岩上佛殿，即朝斗岩寺大雄宝殿，是1932年2月中共福建临时省委召开反对第四次“围剿”紧急会议的地点。[2][5]

1929年，红四军曾在朝斗岩一带召开万人大会。1961年5月，朝斗岩被列为「福建省第一批省级文物保护单位」。[3]

岩名与山石朝向北斗有关。岩上的水云庵、驭风亭等明代建筑，以及岩洞中的摩崖石刻，都保存至今。[3]

村内的主要景区还有接引寺。[4]
