上调吴村隶属合溪乡，又名调吴，村民说客家话。[1][2]

据记载，公元1280年，吴姓一支自江北迁至龙岩石牌，之后再迁到此地；因居地在上方，便称上调吴。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年前本地属金胜里的调吴保；解放后归第八区汤湖乡，并设调吴农会。1958年划为合溪英雄公社的调吴管理区，1961年改隶汤湖公社，成为调吴大队；1971年转属合溪公社。1984年4月，调吴成为合溪乡的一个村委会。1989年3月，调吴村委会一分为二，分设上、下调吴两个村民委员会。[1][2]

2019年，村里设立了股份经济合作社。[2]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫部门将本村评定为卫生村，称号为「2021年福建省卫生村」；2024年1月，村子获命名为2023年度龙岩市「平安村居（社区）」。[1]

经济[edit]

村民大多在全国各地从事电子产品的生产、批发与零售，村中不少人因此致富。2011年，村民人均纯收入为5206元。[1][2]
