桂象村位于湖山乡南部，依傍天科岽、凉伞岽山麓，辖小象湖、桂竹里两个自然村。[1][4]

名称[edit]

“桂象”二字分别取自桂竹里与象湖村。[1]

地理环境[edit]

天科岽、凉伞岽两座大山的上半部，都划为国家生态公益保护林。[1]

百度百科所载：设8个村民小组，户籍1054人，村域4.9平方公里。博雅地名网则作全村1020人，小象湖520人，桂竹里500人。两处人口不一，此处并列。[2][4]

历史沿革[edit]

此村原属象湖村，1989年4月，经县政府批准另划，设立桂象村民委员会。[1][4][5]

乡级沿革页记此次划出为1987年，村页则记为1989年4月。[3][1]

姓氏宗族[edit]

小象湖的李姓自湖坑镇迁入，繁衍至今已有600多年；桂竹里全村为钟姓，据传为畲族后裔，后改为汉族。[2]

村中现存钟姓宗祠。[4]

经济[edit]

村中修建了山泉水饮水工程，多家建有沼气池。村民种植烤烟、生姜、水浸柿和巴戟天，全村森林覆盖率约占八成。[2]
