高头镇位于福建省龙岩市永定区东南部，东南与漳州市南靖县书洋镇接壤，西南与湖坑镇相邻，北面连着古竹乡，距永定区城区约29千米。镇内的高北土楼群属于福建土楼世界文化遗产，其中的承启楼有「土楼王」之称。[1][4][7]

历史沿革[edit]

明清两代，此地属金丰里刀头乡，民国时为上金区高头保，其后归高竹乡管辖。[2]

1957年，这里撤区建乡，初名高头乡。此后经历了高头人民公社（1958年起）与古竹公社（1970年起）的时期，1984年起重新隶属古竹乡。[2]

1998年，高头乡从古竹乡分出另设，辖高东、高北、高南、梅花石、大岭下五个行政村（永定区政府网站所载）。2021年5月，福建省人民政府批复撤销高头乡、设立高头镇，行政区域与政府驻地保持不变。[2][4]

地理环境[edit]

镇境属山区，平均海拔约480米，全年气候温和湿润，适宜发展生态农业。[4]

各处记载的面积不一：《永定统计年鉴2024》所载土地面积为24.7平方千米，百度百科记为25.93平方千米，永定区政府网站称全镇面积30平方千米，博雅地名网沿用1997年设乡时的35.6平方千米。[6][1][4][5]

百度百科载，截至2019年末，镇户籍人口为9460人。[1]

永定区政府网站的乡镇概况载全镇3094户、10118人，但未注明统计年份。[4]

经济[edit]

高头以农业为主，山地多，果园与茶园是主要的种植业，红柿是其中的主要果品。[4][5]

据2000年前后的资料，镇内有机砖厂、水电站、茶厂和服装加工厂，服装多销往漳州、厦门等地。[5]

文化[edit]

永定区政府网站称高头是土楼之乡，境内土楼景观是重要的旅游资源。[4]

2014年9月，环境保护部授予高头镇「2012年—2013年度国家级生态乡镇」称号；2017年，镇被福建省旅发委评为「乡村旅游休闲集镇」；2024年1月，镇被认定为「2023年福建省卫生乡镇」。[3][4]

名胜古迹[edit]

高北土楼群位于高北村，由承启楼、五云楼、世泽楼、侨福楼组成，居住者多为江姓族人。该群2008年列入世界遗产名录，2013年经国务院公布，列为第七批全国重点文物保护单位。[7][8]

承启楼是高北土楼群的核心建筑，有「土楼王」之称，建成于清康熙四十八年。[8]
