河坑村位于堂堡镇西北部，东临村中村，北靠三堡村，距镇政府约1.5公里。[1]

村名来历：村原名沙坑。据博雅地名网所载，清乾隆年间本地出过进士和官员，村民认为「沙坑」之名含义太小，遂改称河坑。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年前此地属堂溪乡河坑保，1949年初归堂堡村河坑农会管理。1952年划入十二区，称河坑乡；1956年改属堂堡乡河坑村。[1]

1958年划为钢铁公社的一个管理区，1961年改由堂堡公社设大队。2020年1月，村归堂堡镇河坑村民委员会管辖；此前自1984年起，它为堂堡乡河坑村民委员会。[1]

2021年6月，河坑村入选福建省第四批省级传统村落名单。2021年11月，河坑村获福建省爱卫办授予「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

村中的居易楼建于清光绪年间，为土木结构的建筑群，现为永定区重点文物保护单位。1929年红四军前委领导以此楼为住地，毛泽东曾在此下榻；与之相配的竹林馆在村中村一带，同为当年红四军前委领导的住所。[2][1]
