堂堡镇是福建省龙岩市永定区的一个镇，位于区境西北部，镇政府设在村中村堂堡街。[1][2]

镇名来历有一说：相传明清时期沈氏一家迁到此地，在一口塘的背后定居，人们称其地为「塘背」，后音转为「堂堡」。[3]

2020年撤乡设镇，改称堂堡镇；此前自1984年起称堂堡乡。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清两代，这一带隶属丰田里。民国年间称堂溪联保，归第八区和下丰区管辖；其后并区，改称堂堡乡，划入第二区，1942年又一度叫作堂溪乡。[1][5]

建国后，此地先称堂堡村，历经湖堂区、湖雷区、第七区等划分。1952年设第十二区和堂溪区，1956年改为乡，隶属湖雷区。1958年一度改作钢铁人民公社，1961年分出堂堡、三堡两个公社；1965年撤销工委后复称公社，1984年改回堂堡乡，2020年撤乡设镇。[1][5]

地理环境[edit]

镇境在永定区西北部，东邻坎市镇，西接合溪乡，南与湖雷镇相连，北与虎岗乡、高陂镇接壤。镇内多山地，以种植水稻、烤烟为主，山林中产竹木。[4]

境内的矿产，据博雅地名网所载，有朱罗村的铁矿和香溪村的金矿。[4]

名胜古迹[edit]

河坑村的居易楼建于清光绪年间，为土木结构的建筑群，占地1200余平方米，现为永定区重点文物保护单位。据百度百科，1929年红四军前委扩大会议曾在此召开，毛泽东也曾在此下榻。[6]

居易楼与竹林馆是当年红四军前委领导的驻地，二者分别位于河坑村和村中村，年代同为1929年。[7]

三堡村的奎文书馆始建于明万历年间，清乾隆五十一年（1786年）改建为现存的样式，坐东朝西，占地约900平方米，是村中现存的清代古建筑。[8]
