城郊镇位于永定区中部，紧邻永定城区。西面与仙师镇相邻，南面与广东省大埔县接界，北面连着金砂乡和西溪乡；东面则是岐岭乡与湖雷镇。[1]

镇名取自辖区处于城区与乡村交界的位置。[2] 镇的前身是城郊乡，该乡由城关人民公社分立而来，到2014年12月起改称为镇。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1984年，城郊乡自城关人民公社分离而设；2014年底，乡一级建制撤销，改设为镇。[1]

民国时，这一带分属第一区、城厢镇和凤城镇；明清时则归溪南里管辖。[3]

地理环境[edit]

镇域面积82.6平方千米；森林覆盖率82%，林地约8.85万亩，地热资源丰富。[1]

2023年，城郊镇被授予省级「全域生态旅游小镇」称号。[1][2]

2022年12月，城郊镇获评「2022年福建省卫生乡镇」，评定机构为省级爱卫部门；2024年1月，全镇被列入「2023年度龙岩市平安乡镇（街道）」名单。[2]

人口民族[edit]

常住人口10153人，户籍人口则为12188人，合计4207户；境内共有60个自然村。[1]

学校方面，镇内有一所完全中学、一所完全小学，以及一所公办幼儿园；另设有一所卫生院。[1]

经济[edit]

烤烟种植、果园、菜地与竹林经营是镇里的主要农业门类，由此形成郊区农业的面貌。[1]
