历史沿革[edit]
社区名称取自它所在的位置：此地原为仙师乡锦丰村的一片落，后以永定河为界划分，又在河的西边，故名锦西。[1]
1984年，此处设立锦西村民委员会。1997年，峰市确定此地为集镇安置点，村委会随即改为社区居委会，同年7月起归峰市管辖。[1]
2021年11月，福建省爱卫办命名锦西社区为「2021年福建省卫生社区」。[1]
