东中村位于培丰镇东北部的山区，与龙岩市东肖镇毗邻，同龙潭镇接壤。全村下辖14个村民小组。[1]
村名的来历：1952年民主建政时，此地设乡，乡址设在坝子上，坝子是村中的中心地，于是取镇东保的「东」字和中心地的「中」字，得名东中。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
民国时期这里属培丰乡，1949年设村，1952年民主建政时单独设乡。1958年初撤区并乡，设东中管理区；同年10月转为生产营。1959年至1961年为管理区，1969年成为大队级的革命领导小组，1972年改设大队管委会。[1]
1966年至1976年间一度叫东风大队，随后复名东中大队。1984年建乡选举时，它转入坎市镇，定名东中村委会；1993年培丰设镇后划归培丰镇。[1]
2022年10月，省农业农村厅把东中村评定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。2025年7月，东中村被确认为「龙岩市永定区2025年区级一村一品专业村」（油茶）。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
寨背炉位于本村境内，是一块红色土地，红军游击队曾长期在此活动，解放后被上级评为革命基点村。[1]
