五黄村位于湖坑镇的边缘，东与古竹乡相接，西与岐岭乡交界，距湖坑集镇4公里，县道陈（东）至古（竹）公路穿村而过。村名的「五」取自五指岽基点村，「黄」取自上黄、下黄两个自然村，合称五黄。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

这里原属湖坑区的湖公保。1953年6月归湖坑公乡，1954年起并入湖坑乡，1958年至1960年设为湖坑管理区的一部分。[1]

1960年冬，湖坑分成四个大队，这里以「五黄」命名为大队；1964年并回，1979年4月重分，才恢复五黄大队。1984年改为村制时称湖坑乡五黄村委会。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村民主要靠农业为生，种植水稻、烤烟等作物。村子附近的景点包括福建土楼（永定）旅游景区，此外高北土楼群和洪坑土楼群也在附近。[1]
