湖坑村位于湖坑集镇一带，全村分为4个自然村。2020年2月入选福建省第三批省级传统村落，2021年11月被福建省爱卫办命名为2021年福建省卫生村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村名原作「湖山」，据传明朝时李氏第四祖从上杭丰稔迁来此地定居，因地形而取名湖山。清末在这里设起市场，因周围多坑，后人改称湖坑。[1]
清朝时属金丰里，民国时称南丰乡，隶属第三区。1950年先在下南溪设区公所，之后迁到湖坑。1958年设湖坑乡，随后成为湖坑公社的一部分。[1]
1984年设湖坑乡政府，村级组织改为湖坑村民委员会；1993年撤乡设镇后，村名仍为湖坑村，隶属湖坑镇。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
离村子不远的景区有福建土楼（永定）旅游景区；高北土楼群与洪坑土楼群也在附近，游览线路因此较为集中。[1]
