湖坑镇位于福建省龙岩市永定区东南部，地处金丰溪的上游，东边是南靖县书洋镇，东南面与平和县芦溪镇相接。据区政府网站所载，全镇总面积约96.5平方千米，人口约2.6万人。[1]

湖坑镇是福建土楼的重要分布地，镇内现有土楼1500余座。列入2008年世界文化遗产名录的福建土楼中，湖坑占9座本体楼。[1][6]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时，这里隶属金丰里。民国时期曾称中金区、第三区，此后改为南丰乡、丰泰乡、中金乡等建制。[3]

新中国成立以后，此地先为第三区，改称南溪区人民政府。1958年并乡为湖坑乡，当年又改成湖坑人民公社。1984年重新称湖坑乡，那时下辖24个村委会。[3]

1987年7月，其中8个村划出另设大溪乡，湖坑乡余下16个村委会。1993年撤乡建镇，村数不变。[3]

据区政府网站，全镇有31个革命基点村，中共闽粤边区工委、闽西特委等机关曾设在这一带，因此素有「小延安」之称。[1]

地理环境[edit]

湖坑镇西邻大溪乡，北与古竹乡、高头镇相毗。山林面积约13万亩，耕地面积23248亩。[1]

人口民族[edit]

这里是纯客家聚居的乡镇，各村合计有24个姓氏（不含外嫁入的人口）。一座土楼里往往住着一大家族。[1]

2000年的统计显示，镇内有5057户、22908人，分为166个村民小组。[2]

经济[edit]

自1988年起，土楼观光在镇上成了主要产业，镇里还组建了「土楼风味小吃一条街」和「土楼购物一条街」。[2]

镇里盛产红柿。[2]

文化[edit]

每三年一届的李氏「作大福」民俗活动吸引了海内外众多人士参与，是镇上客家民俗的重要内容。[1]

全镇统计在册的民间信仰活动场所有21个，多数建于明清时期，最早的可追溯至宋代。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

福建土楼（永定）旅游景区被定为国家「5A级」旅游景区，湖坑是其核心区域。[1][4]

洪坑土楼群位于洪坑村，宋末元初（13世纪）林氏在此开基，国务院于2001年5月把它公布为全国重点文物保护单位。[7][8]

洪坑土楼群中的振成楼建于民国元年（1912年），由林鸿超主持建造，按八卦布局，内有二层环形楼台和中心大厅。[7][9]

奎聚楼始建于清道光十四年（1834年），1839年建成，是宫殿式方形土楼，由翰林学士巫宜福设计。[10]

福裕楼始建于清光绪六年（1880年），为三堂四落的府第式土楼，2001年由国务院列入全国重点文物保护单位名录。[11]

如升楼俗称米升楼，为圆形小楼，建于清光绪年间（1875至1908年），是林氏民居。[7][12]

西片村的振福楼建于民国二年（1913年），为苏氏民居，圆形两环，是福建省第七批省级文物保护单位。[13][14]

新南村的衍香楼为圆形土楼，苏氏民居。据百度百科建于清道光二十二年（1842年），永定区政府网站2008年的介绍则作清光绪六年（1880年）建成。[15][5][16]

南中村的环极楼为圆形土楼，由苏卜臣建成于清康熙三十二年（1693年），中心环内不设祠堂。[17][5]

南溪两岸沿溪分布着百余座土楼，是为南溪土楼群，景区的核心建筑包括振福楼、环极楼和衍香楼。[18][5]

奥杳村的天主堂始建于清同治十三年，政府网站称其为永定第一座天主教堂。[19][1]
