新民村位于抚市镇西北部，离镇中心约1公里，村内保存着多座大型土楼，其中永隆昌楼和永豪楼为省级文物保护单位。[1][2]

村名取自《礼记·大学》中「在新民」一语，寓意后人不断革新自我。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年前，这里属中丰乡的一个保。新中国成立后归第四区抚市乡；公社化后，地属抚市管理区。1962年设大队，1965年改称新在大队，1984年称新在村委会。1993年，经县政府批准，本村从原新在村中独立出来，成为新民村民委员会。[1]

文化[edit]

村里有百年以上历史的大型土楼六座，其中两座是省级文物保护单位，即永豪楼和永隆昌楼（见抚市镇）。[2][3]

荣誉[edit]

2019年6月，新民村在第五批中国传统村落名录上有名；2021年11月，本村获得「2021年福建省卫生村」称号；2023年1月，被命名为「2022年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」。[1]
