中在村地处抚市镇的集镇中部，交通便利。村子下辖三个自然村，南邻社前村，北邻协兴村，到永定县城的路程为31公里。[1][3]

村名来自地处抚市中心的一处山寨。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时属中丰乡中在保。新中国成立后这一带归第四区抚市乡管辖。公社化之后，本村并入抚市管理区；1962年成立中在大队，1993年经上级政府批准单独设立中在村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

福建省卫生村一项，中在村于2021年按公示名单获得称号，即「2021年福建省卫生村」；2024年1月，又获评「2023年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」。[1][2]
