平在村位于高陂镇东部，村子坐落在平坦的田洋之间，旧名坪寨，1949年后改用同音字“平在”[1]。

地名由来[edit]

村庄原名坪寨，因座落在平坦的田洋中而得名。1949年后，为方便书写，改用同音字“平在”，取平洋所在之意[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期此地属平在保。1984年改设平在村民委员会，沿用至今[1]。

名胜古迹[edit]

平在暴动旧址即平在五谷庙，又名先农庙，位于乌冬坑口，年代为1928年，占地十余亩，建筑面积800多平方米[1]。

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，平在村被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」[1]。
