坎市街社区位于坎市镇东北部，沿福三线而建，是全镇的集镇中心。它东面与培丰镇相邻，南面与新罗村、浮山村相接。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
社区名称来自原坎市村：村落发展成繁华集镇后，便以「坎市街」相称。[2]
据博雅地名网，自公元1478年起，该地即隶属永定县坎市镇。民国时期实行保甲制；解放初的几年间此地称为坎市村，1958年10月改设生产营，其后数年改为管理区，1969年转为革命领导小组，1972年起归坎市大队管委会。[3]
1984年建镇时设坎市街居民委员会，2003年改为社区居民委员会，沿用至今。[1][3]
2021年11月，福建省卫生社区的称号授予该社区；2023年1月，它获评2022年度龙岩市「平安村居（社区）」。[1][2]
经济[edit]
社区经济以商贸业和劳务输出为主，蔬菜、茶叶、水稻、水果等种植和养殖业也占一定比重。[2]
