高厦村位于万安镇境内，清代称高桥坑，村中有厦坑（又称下坑），后演变为高厦。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

这里在清代以高桥坑之名属九龙乡万安里西坑社，之后又归溪口社。民国时期划入梧新乡。1949年至1956年曾叫高新村，后改称高新乡。[1]

1957年撤区并乡后归溪口乡；1958年设为高厦大队；1984年起归万安乡，设为村委会；1995年划归万安镇。[1]

人物[edit]

罗育才生于1921年（卒年未详），是本村人。他1937年投身革命，经历闽西南苏区的三年游击战。全面抗战开始后，所在部队改编为新四军，他随军北上，在第二支队三团任战士。[1]
