洋西村是白沙镇的一个行政村，村名以驻地所在的洋西得名。“文革”时期，村名曾改称红光、红星等。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
民国时期称宁洋县小溪乡的洋西坑保，解放初改称宁洋县罗山乡洋西村。1954年设洋西高级社；1956年改属龙岩县白沙区。1963年划为罗山公社的洋西大队，1965年并入白沙公社。1984年设白沙乡洋西村委会，1995年12月起为白沙镇洋西村委会。[1]
