岩下村位于白沙镇政府所在地西南方约3公里处，平均海拔250米左右，是白沙镇的一个行政村。村名来自村上方高耸的狮崆岩（又称狮子岩），村庄坐落在岩东的山脚下，故称岩下。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放初本村属白沙乡；1957年撤区并乡时改归白岩乡，1958年归白沙公社管辖。1984年隶属白沙乡。1990年，经上级批准，从原属的村中独立出来，设岩下村委会；1995年12月起称白沙镇岩下村委会。[1][2]

博雅地名网称本村为革命据点村。[1]

文化[edit]

2021年2月，本村上榜「福建省2018—2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单；2021年11月，被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」；2022年10月，经福建省农业农村厅认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」；2025年11月，被认定为「福建省第二批省级乡村振兴示范村」。[1]
