赤村位于雁石镇南边，原名柴村。明朝时柴姓族人在此定居，后以方言谐音改称赤村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
解放初此地属雁厦区四北乡，1957年撤区并乡后属岩山乡，1961年属北山公社，1965年划归雁石公社。1984年属雁石镇，1989年单独设立赤村村委会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2021年1月、2023年1月和2024年1月，赤村依次名列2020、2022、2023年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）名单。[1]
