营坑村隶属适中镇，地处镇域西北，东边与中溪村相接，西北靠近永定区一带。村名中的“营”有联合之意，“坑”指驻地的山间沟谷。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

营坑村的自然村分布呈北斗形，零星散布在山间，由大溪垌、石碑、祠仔坑、后头山、寒树下、城坑六个自然村组成。村中耕地和林地都以山地为主，木材蓄积量较大，煤矿与石灰石资源丰富，距319国道仅约5公里。[2]

寒树下、大溪乾一带出产牛心柿，据称已有四百余年的历史。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前此地属旧适中镇的营保。1949年归中溪乡，设营坑村；1958年改为适中公社的营坑大队。[1]

1984年设适中乡营坑村委会，1989年划归适中镇。[1]

社会与设施[edit]

解放前，村民多耕种山田，土地贫瘠，许多人靠砍柴、挑担维持生计。解放后，村民有了自己的田地，生活逐步改善。[2]

1989年，村中架设了约8公里的高压输电线，家家户户用上了电灯。[2]
