适中镇是福建省龙岩市新罗区下辖的镇，位于新罗区最南部，东接漳平市永福镇，西与永定区相邻，南与南靖县接壤，北面与曹溪街道和东肖街道相连。镇政府驻中心村，距龙岩市区约35公里。[1][6]
此地古称上坪，明代设有驿站，嘉靖年间改名适中驿，驿名取其居于龙岩与漳州之间的位置，地名沿用至今。[3][5]
境内群山环抱，中部有三个长条形小盆地，平均海拔约640米，森林覆盖率为74.4%。1984年设适中乡，1989年改设适中镇，辖22个行政村。[1][3][6]
历史沿革[edit]
明嘉靖三十七年（1558年）龙岩全县推行乡、里、社的编制，此地隶属铁石乡龙门里，分为上坪上、上坪中、上坪下三社。清道光十五年（1835年）三社合为一个适中社。[5]
民国三十年（1941年）十二月，此地划出适中镇，另设和丰乡与象和乡，此后区划屡有调整。[3][5]
新中国成立后，此地先设适中区与象和区。1957年分出象溪、适中、永和三个乡，次年改建人民公社，1965年三社并为适中公社。[3]
1984年设适中乡，1989年改设适中镇。2000年时辖22个村委会，镇政府驻中心村。[3][5]
2003年1月，福建省人民政府将适中镇列为「第二批福建省历史文化名镇」。[1][2][5]
2014年7月，适中镇被住房和城乡建设部等部门确定为「全国重点镇」。[1][5]
适中镇在2021年10月获农业农村部认定，入选「第十一批全国一村一品示范村镇」，产品为山麻鸭。[1]
地理环境[edit]
上方山南北纵贯全镇，中部形成三个长条形的小盆地，地势较平坦。[5]
境内溪流有内田溪、适中溪（又称柳溪）、象山溪、新祠溪和营坑溪，汇入九龙江西溪的芦江水系。[5]
当地年平均气温约18.1摄氏度，冬季不算寒冷，雨量充沛，年降水量为1873.2毫米。[6]
人口民族[edit]
2019年末户籍人口为39412人。[5] 2020年11月1日零时，常住人口为30362人。[5]
居民以汉族为主，通行龙岩话，属南语系。[6]
交通[edit]
319国道纵贯全镇，漳龙高速公路也经过境内，厦蓉高速公路在新祠设有互通出口。龙厦铁路在镇北部、东部地下穿行，2012年建成通车。[5][6]
地方特产[edit]
烤烟、茶叶、薏米、牛心柿和空壳饼是镇里传统的产物。薏米多出自丰田、象山、颜祠一带的山区。[5]
牛心柿产于营坑村的寒树下、大溪乾一带，据称已有四百余年的历史。[5]
文化[edit]
盂兰盆盛会以镇中的白云堂为活动场所，由陈、林、赖、谢四姓民众联合举办，每逢干支纪年为甲、乙、丙的农历十月举行，俗称“十月半”，据称始于十三世纪初。[5]
2005年，盂兰盆节俗被列入「省级非物质文化遗产保护名录」。[5]
名胜古迹[edit]
典常楼位于中心村，为谢姓民居，清乾隆四十九年（1784年）建成，是内包外联式生土夯筑的方围土楼。2006年公布为「第六批全国重点文物保护单位」。[4][5]
古丰楼又作古皇楼，同在中心村，为陈姓族人所建，四层空井式土楼，据载始造于南宋建炎年间。2001年公布为县级文物保护单位。[4][5]
文明塔在仁和村一带的山顶，始造于1131至1162年间的南宋时期，为八角形、中空的楼阁式土塔，通高23.26米，现存九层，原有十三层。2009年11月列为「第七批省级文物保护单位」。[4][5]
丞相垒在保丰村的倒岭一带，明万历十年（1582年）当地立碑亭，纪念文天祥在此驻军抗元的旧垒，碑亭后毁，1987年重建。1982年列为「县级文物保护单位」。[4][5]
庆云楼在仁和村保太自然村，为谢姓民居，建于清康熙年间，是五层空井式方围楼。2001年列入「第三批县级文物保护单位」。[4][5]
仁和天成寨在仁和村北山自然村，为清代建筑，四层高，2017年列入「第五批县级文物保护单位」。[4]
白云堂位于中学北侧，为盂兰盆会陈、林、赖、谢四大姓的活动场所，宋绍定年间建，清康熙年间重修。魁楼位于中心村的适中中学内，建于宋代，是为科举中的士子立的纪念场所。[5]
著名人物[edit]
谢世芳出生于中心村墩古，清代考中武进士，后选补湖北荆门营守备。[5]
林希尹出生于中溪村龙埔的恒德楼，年幼即能作诗文。[5]
谢华安是植物遗传育种方面的科学家，当选中国科学院院士，籍贯为保丰村。[7]
