平洋村地处镇域西南面，西临岭背村，北靠北洋村。村名来历是：清代村民以烧制陶器为生，旧称窑头；这片洋地平坦，俗称「洋」，村庄又在其最低洼处，故名平洋。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
解放初隶黄岗乡，1957年归红坊乡。1961年设平洋大队，1965年并入邻近大队，1981年复设平洋大队，1984年改设平洋村委会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
平洋村于2022年10月获福建省农业农村厅认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。2025年11月，平洋村被认定为「福建省第二批省级乡村振兴示范村」。[1]
