朝前村位于龙门街道西部，319国道穿村而过，离高速公路龙岩西出口约1公里。村名的来历是：古时村头竖有一块石牌，初名石牌前，后写作石泉；1965年两村各取一字合为朝前。[1]

地理环境[edit]

龙门溪与留坑溪两条溪流经村内。村下辖中洋、留洋、陈邦坑、留坑四个自然村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前此地归旧龙门镇；解放初划入湖邦区，1957年随撤区并乡改属湖邦乡。1958年设石泉大队，1965年改称朝泉大队，其后再改朝前大队，1984年设朝前村委会。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

吴承顺墓位于村内319国道边的大排笔架山虎形山北麓。墓主吴承顺与他人合葬于北宋元丰年间，即1078至1085年。这座墓2001年列入县级文物保护单位（第三批），后又于2008年获福建省文物局认定为重要涉台文物。[2]
